Gesù si rivolse ai Giudei che avevano creduto in lui. Ma se leggiamo tutto il capitolo, vediamo che in realtà i religiosi non solo non avevano creduto, ma volevano ucciderlo (8:40). E proprio per questo motivo non capirono, non si pentirono e non furono salvati (Isaia 6:9-10). Si può interpretare che il termine “Giudei” si riferisse ai religiosi dell’epoca.
